Weekly Comic Picks (4th Week of June ’13)

Planning on getting comics this week? Here are a few issues you might want to keep an eye out for.

Batman/Superman #1

The long awaited Batman/Superman by Greg Pak and Jae Lee, two of my favourite creators, is set to show us the first meeting between Batman and Superman in the New 52. Whether this alters the “first meeting” seen back in Justice League remains to be seen, either way this should be a great issue.

The Unwritten #50

The Unwritten is a great series that’s been criminally overlooked. Issue 50 properly kicks off the Fables storyline, after teasing it last issue. Billed as a crossover the entire story actually takes place in Unwritten. From the previews it looks like an old villain may be back…

X-Men #2

mar130639After a fantastic opening issue I’m willing to bet the price of admission that issue 2 of Brian Wood’s X-Men is just as awesome as last time.

Age Of Ultron #10AI

Okay so if you read my review you’ll know I’ve not been a fan of Age of Ultron. But this week’s bonus issue is written by Mark Waid, who I am a huge fan of. Let’s hope this issue lives up to his usual high quality of work.

Prophet #36

There’s a Prophet sale going on right now on Comixology. What a great time to get up to date with this trippy sci-fi series before the next issue releases this week.
