Weekly Comic Picks (1st Week of June ’13)

Planning on getting comics this week? Here are a few upcoming issues that you may want to keep an eye out for.

Star Wars Legacy Book 1

StarWarsLegacy

Okay, so before I jump into issues I thought I’d point out that with a new Star Wars Legacy series now out it’s a perfect time to catch up on the old series. Collecting a whopping 440 pages this hardcover collection is a great alternative to the trades, which have steadily become harder to find recently.

Fairest #16

Fairest16

Fables’ spin-off Fairest continues this week with another issue. ‘Nuff said!

Green Arrow #21

GreenArrow21

Green Arrow is in the middle of a fantastic refresh. After a very rocky start in the New 52 this series is now really hitting the level of quality it deserves.

The Movement #2

Movement2

Honestly, I thought The Movement #1 didn’t really live up to the hype. Despite that, I think there’s definitely something to the idea. With another issue about to arrive we should be able to get a better look at just what this series is all about. Gail Simone is a brilliant writer, I trust that she’s going to bring everything together.

Locke And Key Omega #5

LockeAndKeyOmega5

With the conclusion just a few issues away Omega continues the final chapter of Locke And Key. If you’ve been following the story there’s no way you can let this slip by.

East Of West #3

EastOfWest3

East Of West is one of the most confusing comics I’ve ever read. Despite barely being able to follow the plot I had a blast with the last two issues. If you haven’t tried it yet think Dark Tower with a dash of Terminator.

Daredevil Dark Nights #1

DaredevilNight

A new Daredevil anthology series begins this week. The first in a three-part story, it’s worth noting that this isn’t in continuity with Mark Waid’s Daredevil. At first glance it looks like it might be more in tune with the darker stories we were getting a few years ago.

Kick Ass 3 #1

KickAss3

The final storyline in Mark Millar’s four part Kick Ass story begins this week. If you’re confused where part 3 went it was the Hit-Girl prequel which recently finished. Kick Ass 2 was horribly dark and ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger so I wonder how they’re going to wrap things up?
