Star Wars Saturday – More Ep VII Rumours While SWTOR’s Expansion Nears
Welcome back to Star Wars Saturday! A weekly post that recaps this week’s Star Wars news and touches on other fun little tidbits from the galaxy far, far away…
It’s the second Saturday of the second incarnation of my little weekly column. It’s not as busy a week as last time but there’s still a few things to talk about. From games to movies to books, it’s a varied week!
Mark Hamill In Talks To Return?
A couple of interesting pieces of information came from Mark Hamill this week. The most interesting line is:
“He did say that if we didn’t want to do it, they wouldn’t cast another actor in our parts – they would write us out. … I can tell you right away that we haven’t signed any contracts.”
So that pretty much shoots down the rumour from last week about Harrison Ford already onboard for Episode VII. But, it does mean the original actors have been approached. Interesting also is the news that they’d write out anyone who didn’t want to return. From what we’ve heard though, pretty much everybody wants to return! New Trilogy To Focus On Skywalker And Solo Kids?
A report over at Showbiz411 claims that the Skywalker and Solo children will be the focus of the new trilogy while the original cast will have lesser roles. Completely unconfirmed but this does mesh with previous rumours. A popular rumour states that Jaina Solo will the protagonist of the new movies, the daughter of Han and Leia. However, it could just simply be that this is the most logical choice for the movie given the age of the original cast.
Some Upcoming Books Are Coming Even Sooner
As mentioned on the Star Wars Books Facebook page two novels have been bumped up. The untitled Leia novel by Martha Wells, part of the Rebels trilogy, is now set for October 29th of this year. Meanwhile, John Jackson Miller’s Kenobi is now arriving August 27th this year.
Patch 2.0 Hits The SWTOR Test Server
The content packed sounding 2.0, the first patch to increase SWTOR’s level cap, has popped onto the test server. 2.0 will bring with it the first expansion pack, Rise of the Hutt Cartel. However, the expansion pack’s new planet will not be on the test server. Instead players will be able to boost up to level 55 and check out some other new features such as the achievement system.
Question Of The Week
With all the talks about the original cast lately, do you want them to return? Or would you rather the new trilogy focus entirely on new characters? Let me know in the comments below or shoot me a tweet @PanelsAndPixels!
Thanks for checking out Star Wars Saturday! I’ll see you next week for another roundup of the news and a new question of the week.
